guided walking trails in Kilkee and the loophead with nevsail

Kilkee is a popular seaside resort in West Clare, renowned for its Blue Flag Beach and the wide variety of activities available to all it's visitors. The loop walking tours are between 5km and 8km in length respectively, and feature spectacular views along the Kilkee cliffs.

Follow the footpath and sea wall along by the coast to the Diamond Rocks Café. From here follow the red arrows.  Points of interest include the Pollock Holes (natural rock pools suitable for swimming when the tide is out), the amphitheatre and the Pink Caves. Intrinsic Bay is named after the "Intrinsic", a ship from Liverpool which was wrecked in the area in 1836. Before the loop turns back towards Kilkee, the area at "Lookout Cliff" provides stunning views of Clare's Atlantic coastline. Both loops then return using minor roads and footpaths. You can also be taught some map orientation skills and compass work along your walk, some feature recognition and pacing skills too. And have a picnic or lunch break on route also.

The loop walking tour are part of the network of walks under the Shannon Region Trails Programme and are marked using the standard red Shannon Region Trails directional arrows.
