At Nevsail Watersports we have an experienced staff of Kayaking and Canoeing Instructors and run our Kayaking/Canoeing tours and courses from January until November. We can take you on an unforgettable kayaking tour in Clare taking in stunning  local caves in Kilkee Co Clare, exploring private coves, take in the stunning cliffs or enjoy some kayak surfing in the bay or alternatively you can enjoy a river paddle in Doonbeg Co Clare, see the herons hunting, fish jumping and take in Doonbeg castle and beautiful surroundings.

We also run Official I.C.U. (Irish Canoe union) Kayak and Canoe Courses most weekends in Clare. Once you have successfully completed your course you will receive a certificate from the I.C.U . We have a range of course on offer including : 1 or 2 day kayak and canoe courses, 2 and a half hour lessons with an Instructor, where you can go on a trip and explore the beautiful coastline or alternatively you can hire a kayak/ canoe for an hour. We have easy to use sit on top kayaks, which are self bailing,....which means that a complete beginner can paddle safely. We also have enclosed kayaks for the more proficient kayakers as well as 16ft long Sea Kayaks for exploring the coastline which will guarantee you great fun and excitement.

INTRO TO KAYAKING SESSIONS:This 2 ½ hour TASTER session, which can be organized and run any time, afternoons, weekends and weekdays and is Suitable for beginners or even the most experienced kayakers to enjoy a trip around the inlets, heads, cliffs, caves in and around Kilkee Bay, Co. Clare.

• The instructor will be with you to show you all the spots and teach you some kayaking strokes and safety tips at the same time. Or you may fancy a game of kayak polo or some jumping off rocks.

COST: €35 per person, MINIMUM OF 2 PERSONS.

LEVEL ONE I.C.U. KAYAK AND CANOE COURSES (10:30-4:30)

This course is all about introducing you to the exciting sport of kayaking/ Canoeing. Here are just a few of the details and things you will be learning about.

• Intro to different types of kayaks and equipment
• Basic Safety Procedures
• Entering and Exiting the Kayaks easily
• Basic Paddling Skills and Strokes - Going Forward, Backwards, Stopping, Turning etc
• Recovery Procedures
• A Kayaking Trip/Excursion

These Kayaking courses take around 5-6 hours long and all you need to bring with you is a towel and swimming gear. DATES: January until November.

COST: €75 pp and YOU WILL BE ICU CERTIFIED AFTER SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THE COURSE.

LEVEL TWO I.C.U KAYAKING/CANOE COURSES (10:30-4:30)

This course is all about improving your skills in kayaking/ canoeing. Some courses details are listed here.

• More Advanced Strokes - Stern rudder, sweeping strokes, bow turns, draw strokes etc.
• High and Low Bracing strokes
• Kayaking/Canoe Surfing
• Rescues and First aid,
• A Kayaking Trip or Excursion.
• Knots, Safety and Theory work.
• This course is also 5-6 hours long and you need to bring your own swimming togs and towel. 
• COST: €75pp with CERTIFICATION AFTER SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THE COURSE.

HALF DAY AND FULL DAY KAYAKING TRIPS:

Distance: 2-4 km
Duration: 3 -5 hours
Food: You will be required to bring your own packed lunch, which should consist of sandwiches rolls or salad, Drinking water and plenty of snacks (energy bars) etc or we can grab a snack in the Diamond Rocks Cafe. COST: Half Day-€35pp, Full Day-€75pp
